Hawaii - Waterfalls and Views of the Rainbow Island

Waterfall near Hilo

Rainbow Island.

Rainbows - add more colors to the variations in the Ocean water.
Another gorge.

There are quite a few preety gorges like this one. Imagine vertical beaches and the danger of cliffs just collapsing into the see like a crumble cake.

Although the Big Island has a circular highway that can take appox. 375 miles for a roundtrip, the weather was varied frod dried dessert of volcanic rocks to rainy spots.

There are no roads to see the waterfalls but to go on trailwalks or bustrips or helicopter rides.

There are so many falls in the Big Islands.

Thousands of feet of Waterfall from mountain top is awesome, who knows where does the water come from. Must be the rainfall.

Hawaii Trip - Volcanoe

More pics from helicopter.
Information on this board descripbes what was it like when Lava river flowed some 20 years ago.

See the little dots - they are people walking! The guides always warn that this is dangerous.

Rivers of lava flowed here in 1986 - they say over 25000 people came to see it every day.

It is said that generally the valcanic eruptions start after an explosion and an earthquake.

This valconoe has been undergoing some activities. The lava is now just 300 feet below the earth's surface and can erupt any moment.

So Exciting to see Valcano! Here is the mother of creation and earth being created right before one's eyes.

Volcanic clouds of 'sulfuric dioxide' continuously spewing their toxins into the ocean.

Swans

Black necked Swans are so exotic! Never seen one before.

White swans really love posing for photos.

Recently we visited a Bird Santuary called Slimbridge in UK.

I finally got a long awaited opportunity to take pictures of Water Birds: Black, White and Black necked Swans!

Romi could not resist but take alot of pictures of Swans - they do have a temperament as well!
